Tinjauan Baumanian-Levinasian atas Agama di Tengah Krisis Pengungsi

Abstrak

Artikel ini membahas tentang relevansi pemikiran Baumanian-Levinasian dalam sebuah analisis konkret mengenai penerimaan para pengungsi. Berbagai pendekatan klasik dan definisi cenderung memandang agama sebagai sebuah fenomena pengelompokan dan sebuah sarana ideologis dalam membentuk keteraturan sosial. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan sebuah pendekatan yang relevan mengenai agama sebagai dorongan etis untuk membangun inklusi sosial melalui proses transmigrasi. Pada tahun 2015, krisis imigrasi Eropa yang disebabkan oleh perang sipil di Syria telah memunculkan sikap xenofobia terhadap kaum imigran yang berujung pada Brexit di tahun 2020. Terdapat beberapa proses pemukiman bagi para pengungsi yang didorong oleh motivasi agama yang menjadi contoh praktis dan kritik etika terhadap ideologi liberalisme-sekuler. Adapun begitu, artikel ini turut menambahkan sebuah refleksi mengenai peran gereja di Indonesia sebagai ruang penampungan bagi para pengungsi dan kelompok marjinal yang serupa. Sebagai kesimpulan, kerangka berpikir Baumanian-Levinasian mengenai agama dan etika tetap memiliki relevansi yang cukup dekat dengan konteks masyarakat Barat dan Indonesia dalam membentuk inklusi, khususnya di tengah periode yang diwarnai dengan ketegangan politik.

Kevin Nobel Kurniawan, STF Driyarkara & University of Leeds

Kevin Nobel Kurniawan sedang bekerja sebagai guru di Sekolah Kristen Calvin, dan menjabat beberapa posisi sebagai pengajar di perguruan tinggi. Pada saat ini, dia sedang terlibat dengan beberapa proyek riset dan berfokus pada tema-tema sosial-humaniora pada bidang sosiologi dan filsafat.
