Orientasi Religius dan Emosi Jijik pada Dewasa Muda di Jabodetabek

Keyakinan agama sering kali terkait dengan respons emosional, khususnya terhadap stimulus yang dianggap najis atau menyimpang secara moral. Cara individu menginternalisasi ajaran agama dapat membentuk cara mereka mengalami emosi, seperti rasa jijik. Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh orientasi religius–baik intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik– terhadap sensitivitas terkait emosi jijik pada orang dewasa di wilayah Jabodetabek. Untuk mengeksplorasi hal ini, sebanyak 375 partisipan (Musia = 32.18, SD = 2.82) direkrut melalui metode snowball dan purposive sampling, serta mengisi survei daring. Orientasi religius diukur menggunakan Religious Orientation Scale (ROS), sedangkan sensitivitas terhadap rasa jijik diukur dengan Three Domains of Disgust Scale (TDDS). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa orientasi religius ekstrinsik secara signifikan memprediksi tingkat sensitivitas jijik yang lebih tinggi dan hubungan ini lebih kuat ditemukan pada partisipan perempuan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa individu yang menjalani agama untuk tujuan instrumental atau sosial cenderung menunjukkan reaktivitas emosional yang lebih tinggi terhadap stimulus yang membangkitkan rasa jijik dengan perbedaan gender yang menunjukkan sensitivitas lebih kuat pada perempuan.
